BRAWLEY — The net income for the car raffle and “Dance for the Cause” fundraiser event for the Catholic Communities of Brawley & Westmorland was about $20,000. Some $15,000 will be used for faith formation, and the other $5,000 for operating costs for the three parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Margaret Mary in Brawley and St. Joseph in Westmorland. These communities have raised about $22,000 of their $150,000 goal for reconstructing St. Margaret Mary Parish. The cost has gone up from the initial estimate due new information that the roof will need a full replacement after the electrical fire there on Jan. 29. For information on how to donate, contact the St. Margaret Mary Parish office at (760) 679-3505.
