“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” flying to St. Michael’s

POWAY — All are invited to join St. Michael’s School students as they go on a fantasy adventure with a widowed inventor, his two children, and their fixed-up magical Grand Prix car to save their grandfather in a far-off land.

The school’s Theater Department proudly presents “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jr.,” a version of the musical adapted for younger performers.

Showtimes are 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6; 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7; and 1 and 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8. All performances will be in St. Michael’s Holy Family Center.

Students, in the first through eighth grades, are involved in every aspect of the production, including acting, singing, dancing, backstage tech crew, props, costumes, and more. The cast features more than 50 students, and another 25 students are serving on the tech crew.  The  Art Department has been directly involved with sets and props, including creating the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang flying car.
