SAN DIEGO — “Mary, Mother of the Church” depicts the cultures of the San Diego Diocese and their saints, martyrs and apostles. The diocese unveiled the 4-foot wooden statue at the Pentecost Mass in May 2020.
Now, it’s selling a limited number of 16-inch versions that are hand-carved and painted by the artist who created the original in Italy. Each sells for $2,000.
