Street celebration to honor late Father Brown

SAN DIEGO — The community members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Barrio Logan are hosting a “Father Brown Block Party and Kermes” the weekend of Oct. 7 and 8 to celebrate their legendary leader,  the late Father Richard Brown.

The event begins with a memorial Mass on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m., to be celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Ramón Bejarano. Afterward, Beardsley Street will be renamed Fr. Brown Street.

The festivities include food, bands, games and a low-rider exhibit, available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days.
