WALK FOR LIFE
About 5,000 people will gather for the eighth annual San Diego Walk for Life, which includes a line-up of inspiring speakers, including Bishop Robert W. McElroy; a walk along a half-mile loop; about 50 exhibitor booths representing a variety of pro-life, pro-family and religious organizations. For Catholics in the United States, the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, which established a constitutional right to abortion, is observed as a day of penance and prayer. DAY OF DIALOGUE
The Lutheran/Anglican/Roman Catholic Dialogue of San Diego welcomes everyone to its annual Day of Dialogue in celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This year’s theme is “Creation: Caring for Our Common Home.” The main presenter will be Dr. Veerabhadran Ramanathan, a UCSD professor, member of the Pontifical Academy of Science and collaborator/advisor for Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si. There also will be three respondents, one from each faith tradition, addressing how their faith tradition is addressing the issue of caring for our common home. Registration can be made at the door, beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service in the church preceding the talks.
